about

"I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them." Inspired by this Andy Bernard quote from The Office, Scheler wrote his latest song, Good Old Days, about living in the moment and watching his family grow. There was a bicoastal collaboration with Robin Diaz recording drums in Los Angeles, while Jason Greenwood and Scheler refined the song and recorded their parts at Atrium Audio in PA.

lyrics

Hear the crashing of the waves
On those endless summer days
I must be dreamin'
Oh, what a season

Cold drinks in the shade
Children's laughter never fades
It's quite a feelin'
Don't need a reason

Blue skies fade to gray
Time slips away
You turn to me and say
These are the good old days

Time marches on
I don't know how long
Don't save it up now
For your swan song

When things feel so wrong
You know you're right where you belong
Time is frozen
Live in this moment

Blue skies fade to gray
Time slips away
You turn to me and say

These are the good old
Days you wanna return to
When you think about the younger you
It's been so long
You've come so far

Looking glass has been askew
Set it straight right on cue
Write your memoir
Before it's all gone

Hear the crashing of the waves
On those endless summer days
I must be dreamin'
Oh, what a season

Cold drinks in the shade
Children's laughter never fades
It's quite a feelin'
Don't need a reason

Blue skies fade to gray
Time slips away
Blue skies fade to gray
Time slips away
You turn to me and say
These are the good old days
